http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2003/Bowls/Bowl_Projections.htm They have us playing in the Capital One Bowl against Wisconsin.
We are also ranked as having the 15th best offense based on talent and the 13th best defense. http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2003/Preview/Unit_Rankings_Offenses.htm http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2003/Preview/Unit_Rankings_Defenses.htm
I am confused, if they have Auburn as SEC Champs (AS seen by the BCS Orange bowl bid for Auburn, got ten bucks that does not happen) Anyway if the War Eagle is #1 in the SEC, how can LSU be #2. Wouldn't the East champ be #2 or am I mistaken which is possible. They have Tennessee 4th, who is #3. Also the peach bowl is now on Jan 2nd ?? What the... Personally I will gladly take another Jan 1st game. Also as a gag I went and checked out the betting lines, you can fire on SEC champs Alabama is +250. Now I am not ripping Bama here, they will be a good team, but shouldn't Bamas odds of winning the SEC title game by 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1 since they cannot win the SEC because of sanctions. (So you're telling me theres a chance)
the #2 SEC Team does not necessarily have to be loser of the SECCG. Take Arkansas this year for example, they lost to UGA but then were demoted down to I think the Music City Bowl?Meanwhile, Auburn was given the #2 spot instead. I will be shocked to ever see LSU play in Florida. NOT because of where they will finish, but I see the Florida bowls taking a UF, UT, Auburn, or UGA team while Cotton Bowl will drool for LSU every year. Just as I never see Auburn going to the Cotton Bowl.
Ahh makes sense, thanks for the correct. Your assessment on who will take who is probably fair, however most bowls would drool to take any of the Big SEC teams Auburn, Alabama (Yes i know they cannot play this year) LSU, UGA, UF etc etc because we all bring huge amount of fans. Hence LSU had more fans then UT in their own state (We started buying all their tickets) Anyway, makes sense your statement but I hope we never play the cotton bowl again. Although I live here and it was great having LSU all over Dallas, the fact I had to wake up at 7:00am to go to an LSU game 20 minutes from my house is miserable. They really need to do something about this crack of dawn football game. It really sucks for the fans. Chuck didn't AUburn start at like 11:00 or so this year, an hour or so after our breakfast game. Geaux Tigers.
Hell had I read some more I would have realized they did change the cotton bowl to start at 2:00pm. Thank god, what a beating that was. I dont mind the Cotton Bowl now, good for me. As long as we dont play UT, what a miserable lot that bunch is.. geaux Tigers.
Our game was early, but I can't remember the exact time. My fiance (wife) went to Orlando and I remember having to get up WAY to early to head downtown for the game. But I remember the Cotton Bowl going on almost neck and neck with the Citrus Bowl over the loudspeaker. I agree with you about the bowls wanting the SEC majors. However, it think within the top SEC teams each year, the NYD Bowls (Citrus, Outback, Cotton) tend to go regional.
That is the order in which those bowls get to select their team, except for the BCS bowl, which is locked into taking the champion (unless the SEC champ is in the BCS championship game). So in most years, The SECCG winner goes to the Sugar, then the Citrus can choose ANY bowl eligible team from the conference (even Ole Miss  ). The Outback bowl may then select ANY of the remaining eligible teams, regardless of their conference standings. Its like a draft.
