What are everyone's thoughts on having a Pick 'Em contest this year. Now that I'm retired I have plenty of time to organize & run it. If there's enough interest I'm looking at 10 - 12 games per week, straight up - no spread. Emphasis on the SEC with other national games of interest. Let me know if you're interested.
A few weeks ago I mentioned to Shane and Kyle I have one built and discussed inviting you guys over. (I've actually pretty much coded access so people here could register in one click but the software isn't compatible/up to date.) In fact, I have two built. One is a Pickem, survivor style. One SEC pick per week and you can only use one team, one time, through the season. I also have a Sportsbook built. Each player has a $750K bank to start the season. You can wager on prop bets now as well as games throughout the season. Posted each week are spreads, over/unders, and money lines. Survivor 19 : https://www.rolltidebama.com/forum/pickem/ Sportsbook: https://www.rolltidebama.com/forum/sportsbook/ It's free...plan to post here each week when the new lines are up. There are "prizes" being given away each season...looks like we'll be using custom made caps this year to the winners. They'll be coming from this company...I don't believe he has his Louisiana ones finished yet. I'll text him this weekend and ask. I have one he made for me ... good quality. Here's a glimpse of the first page on the Sportsbook as well as one of the games:
We've had a contest here for years. I would prefer to keep that tradition going here. If the members here want it, we'll do it. If not, we won't.
I certainly appreciate you speaking for the group, of which I'm a member. One is a lot easier than the other in that the games are already in place for the Pickem not to mention it's automatically tabulated each week... ...and now you've got a little glimpse at why I was complaining about attachments the other day. I have a small grasp on how this software works.
You need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills. I said if the members here want it, I'll organize it & run it. If they don't or aren't interested we won't. Pretty simple to me.
While I like the idea of a simple pickem as opposed to all the prop bets and the winner being determined by whoever wins the most imaginary money against the spread and the moneyline, I do like the fact that Terry's game keeps track of everything in realtime instantaneously.
I'm a believer in the KISS principle. That and my computer skills are limited at best. You do realize you can participate in more than one contest, right?
Yes , definitely great idea, but hot babe pic must accompany each week. If this goes through I'll retire my Pix of the Weak.
