It's semantics, but you and facts rarely meet. He's 29. OK, so to your point. I agree. E doesn't know how to call a modern offense. Wait, that's what you were saying, right? Brady will be OC next year. It'll either be here, or if we're stupid as we have been in the past, it'll be somewhere else.
Yes, it's an exaggeration, I agree with you. It's kinda like the difference between "I taught you everything YOU know", and "I taught you everything I know". No, we're not the entire Saints offense, but the entire offense (that we've seen) is from the Saints offense. This weekend we'll see more of the offense and against TX I believe that will include some empty packages, some I, etc...that we didn't see Saturday night. But what we saw Saturday night was NOTHING we've seen from E in the past.
I should have said, you'll see the Saints run a lot of plays with Brees under center, rather than the shotgun. But its a lot of one-back sets They will run more 2-back sets when they have the lead.
Don't know why you don't chuck it all and start your own think tank. You're amazing! after watching one game in which MC rightly pointed out we in fact weren't running the Saints offense as you said but we are now to believe YOU KNOW E sucks and Brady WAS in charge of the offense Sat night and he WILL be our OC next year. Wow had I known Brady was 29 instead of 27 I would have thought at that advanced age he will be replacing Saban next year.
This is the problem with guys like you. I never said E sucks. In fact, said he was a great Tiger. Love that dude. But he himself will admit he doesn't know how to implement spread concepts. Quit being so divisive. I never once said E sucks. I pointed out he doesn't have a modern offense in him, and that's what O wants. It's why Brady is here.
I don't think that O is stupid. At this point, it sure looks like he has learned from his mistakes and is a much better coach than his Ole Ms days. Just as important, I think O is a real ethical person in that he puts his team above his own personal gain.
Can't and won't speak to the ethical character of Coach O but I think he cares deeply about this job. I also think he wants to prove everyone wrong and knows he probably doesn't have a very long leash to run on. That can make him dangerous in both great and very catastrophic ways.
Oeaux play his cards perfectly. He wouldn't have gotten the job unless he promised to bring in a name offensive coordinator. When Lane Kiffin took the FAU job instead he grabbed the best available OC in Matt Canada without knowing him. That satisfied Alleva enough to hire him. Pressure was intensified when he and Canada couldn't work together and he hired Ensminger. 2018 was pretty much make or break and he won enough to keep his job and even get a raise and extension. Meanwhile he was steadily stockpiling 4 and 5 star recruits in the mold that he wanted. Has fallen a bit short only on the OL. What next? Bring in Joe Brady. The first returns came in Saturday night. We all saw a well oiled machine with very few ticky tacky mistakes. They say a team improves most between game 1 and game 2. I'm really looking forward to see what happens against much better competion. A win over Texass would be huge in game experience and give the team a great shot of confidence for the upcoming gauntlet they will face in the SEC. Geaux Tigers and Geaux Oeaux!
