Brown's 2-14 record vs. Top 5 ranked opponents speaks volumes.

And I think I read somewhere that he's been coaching 23 years and has never won a conference championship.

He should be Phil Michelson's idol.

Hey, cut Phil some slack. He finally got the major monkey off his back  . Now that he's got two, he might win some more if he can stay away from Amy and the dinner table not necessarly in that order.

I think everyone is too far down on Mack Brown and UT. His record against top competition is poor, and it is also HISTORY. What about his last two trips against top quality in the Rose Bowl and Ohio State. Recently he is 2-0. They have great talent. Vince Young looks like the real deal to me, very comfortable back there, and now experienced. That team can run the table, should run it this year. UT's schedule is not as difficult as LSU's, and I think they have a better chance to go undefeated than we do. They should get by OU, Tx. Tech, and A&M.

If UT plays against USC for the championship, USC will be in for a fight, they will not just kick UT.

My prefererence is for LSU to gel, develop on D, clean the slate and play for the championship against either Tx. or USC. Given our schedule, I think it is a little less likely for us, although there is still a chance for it to work out in our favor. UT or USC could get beat and LSU win out, or we end up with 3 top teams, each of which dropped a game like in 2003.

That's the way I see it.

USC crushes UT as of today. I'm witholding judgement on the BCS game, should they both make it, because teams improve as the year progresses.

you are a TU homer I think....

Michigan was OVERRATED last year, and they struggled to win the Rose Bowl against them.

Ohio State is OVERRATED this year, and their end record will show it. They have no QB at Ohio State, and still almost beat TU.

Either Texas A&M and Texas Tech will beat TU......and you can quote me on that.

If usc plays a competitive schedule they do not remain intact. They had several close calls last year. They got a lot of rep defeating an ou team that just imploded. usc hasn't seen the meat of their slate yet, at least this year they may be challenged by better foes. usc reminds me of the iraq army before the war, the media kept telling us how awesome they were and just how many weapons they had. It turned out they weren't invincible either.

Mack Brown has proven that he is capable of slipping up somewhere. It should happen before the MNC. I don't think Mack is a finisher.

As much as I like the last two SEC teams who did so, the SEC has shown time and time again that it is unlikely anyone will emerge unblemished.

The odds against ANYONE going undefeated are long; 2 teams, astronomical; 3 teams, improbable.

A more difficult decision than which of 3 undefeated teams to leave out of the MNC might be which 1 loss team(s) should be left out of the MNC and why? Date of loss, loss to which opponent, conference strenght, media darling (ND?), what would be the determining factor?
