My wife who is more of a computer moron than I clicked on some Outlook Express upgrade in an email she got. It installed something that I can only define as a "Hotbar". When I open Outlook or Internet Explorer it's got this taskbar at the top in gold buttons. the only think I can figure that it does is it puts links to topics that I can click based on the text on the page I am viewing. I can get rid of it for a session but it comes back every time i re-open. How the hell do I get rid of it for good? Thanks.
Other than Microsoft Outlook 6, this is the only program listed related to Outlook. Would this be it? "Outlook Express Update Q330994"
I would be careful before I delete anything. Not all programs show up in the Add/Remove option. It could be you have some kind off spyware that would be in some folder in the C:\Programs or even in the C:\Windows folder
I'll tell you one other thing it did. I all of a sudden have pop-ups coming in places I normally didn't get them. ie lsusports.net
tell that damn wife of yours to keep her hands off your computer and that its sole purpose is for LSU info.
Go to your start menu at the bottom left and click "run" type in msconfig Go to the start up tab and disable it.
