Grats to all my new LSU friends. You had the better team and most importantly, the more disciplined team. Giving up 30 yards twice on penalties on touchdown drives and losing the ball on the roughing the punter were killers.

I felt that the LSU coverage was the difference in the game. LSU was able to get more and more pressure on the QB as the game went on due to the coverage IMO. For the most part TB had adequate time to throw but had no receiver to throw to.

Despite the negative articles our football cupboard at OSU is far from bare. Beanie Wells is a stud running back and the team was very young. I'm looking forward to a great college season next year.

Hail to the Champions, the LSU Tigers!!

wheelz, it's how the chips fall. Back in 02 the b10 was tougher, and OSU wasn't as equipped to put teams away handily... and thus they were extremely battle tested and smacked a ridiculous Miami team in the mouth.

As far as scheduling, Wash was put on the schedule when they were good (the first game was 03). The premiere games each year are Texas, Texas, Wash, SC, SC, Miami, Miami, then Calx2, OUx2 & VTx2 in some mixture.

Ironically, by the time Miami actually arrives they might be just another team too... tho they were scheduled at their peak.

    ...

This team was a year ahead of schedule and it showed last night, imo. They were talented enough to get to this stage and fight, but with virtually no seniors taking on a laundry list of big-time senior leaders (and some pretty decent non seniors :)), they were outmatched a little bit.

Hopefully y'all will have our back when we try to burst the media darling's bubble in LA next sept. I can't imagine there are many SC fans around these parts :)

I am absolutely amazed at the class and professionalism of the Buckeye posters here and on Buckeye Planet. You guys are a credit to the game of college football. :thumb:

Not only did you travel and represent Ohio St very well at the game, you've been extremely gracious after a very tough loss.

You've gained a Rocky Mountain Buckeye fan.

Congratulations from another proud Buckeye fan.

The things I worried most about besides playing in a tough teams back yard was maturity and focus, and your team had it out the wazoo last night.

    Next time...

When we speak of speed differential we are speaking of team speed differential. Certainly, there are individuals on the OSU team that are as fast if not faster than individuals on the LSU team. But overall LSU is the faster team. This is indicated by the fact that OSU pretty much stuck to a zone defense, rather than risking man-on-man coverage.

I've seen the Buckeyes do some things to boost their OOC strength in the future, but unfortunately, these things have to be done in advance. 2009 has Army replaced with TCU, which is, no matter which way you look at it, an upgrade. We play Cincinnati in 2012 and 2014, who is the up and coming Ohio team in the Big East (10 win season).

I'd like to see Ohio State meet more challenges out of conference, that is for sure. Way back in the day, Ohio State met LSU out of conference. Ohio State tied LSU at Tiger Stadium, and beat LSU at Ohio Stadium. Then again, LSU back then isn't anywhere near LSU today. This is basically the golden age for your program.

Anyway, as for strength in the Big Ten and parity, it is rather lacking. Penn State has an 81 year old football coach, which is good for PR, but bad for football. Michigan is going to take a few years with RR. Wisconsin is consistent and a good football team. Illinois, under Zook, will remain able to win a bunch of games he should win, lose a few games he should win, and win a few games he shouldn't win (Basically, what he did at Florida). Michigan State should get better under Mark Dantonio (In case you guys missed it, they almost beat a 10-3 Boston College team in the Champs Sports Bowl. Michigan State was 7-5).

I'm not a buckeye fan, just happen to live around them, but am a UK fan. Anyways....congrats on a HUGE win....and thank you for shutting up the majority of OSU fans. Although...i did hear one guy today slam the SEC because of the UF-UM game....I just laughed and said...'0-9'
