I was VERY pleased to see the news. From my experience this year, you Tigers are an alright bunch. The Horn fans are having a collective meltdown over this. I have nothing against Texas, the University. Great academics, Austin is one of my favorite cities, and the women are beautiful. But my one experience with Texas FB fans wasn't great. Iowa has only played Texas one time, in the 1984 Freedom Bowl in Texas's backyard. Iowa won 55-17, with Chuck Long throwing for 461 yards and 6 TDs. A large number of Texas fans were downright ugly and vile after the game. The funniest part is that Chuck Long is now the OC at Oklahoma! They CAN'T like Chuck very much! Geaux Tigers! This Hawkeye will be keeping a close eye on y'all
That is funny... I have a question for you Tigers. It is probably too early and unfair to your current QBs, but what are your thoughts on RP playing this year? I was obviously impressed with Russell, and Flynn can't be judged by his few snaps I saw in the Cap1, BUT Perrilloux is a VERY unique talent and is ahead of the curve physically. This kid is amazing in that he is equally as good of a passer as a runner (unlike Young at UT or even M-Vick)
All of Iowa's LOI's are flowing in as expected this morning. We were in a unique position (for us) in that all 23 of our recruits had committed at least 2 weeks ago... Unless there is a total late surprise, the class looks fantastic. It will change a lot after today, but yesterday we were ranked #5 on Scout.com, #6 on Rivals, and #4 by Lemming. This is probably the best recruiting class in the history of Iowa football, but we still have a bit to do to catch up with the LSU's, USC's, and Oklahoma's of the world.....
