I called in to WWL this morning and said this there and I will say it here.... NO PLAYER is bigger then Program period! No COACH is bigger then the Program, this Saban vs Miles crap does not mean **** and RP does not mean ****! The PROGRAM as a whole is ALL THAT MATTERS!!! And you can mark it down right now right here, RP WILL NOT make it through the offseason and be our starting quarterback next season! CC got into all of his trouble when he was hurt and NOT PLAYING football. The times that RP got in trouble was when HE WAS NOT PLAYING FOOTBALL!
Good post... I agree, I will be pretty surprised if RP makes it through the offseason. I hope the kid gets the hint and straightens himself out, but I doubt it. That said, fake id incidents shouldn't end his career, but serious brushes with the law and involvement in fights should. Now if he's getting his butt kicked that's another story.....a good swift kick in the a** might be the dose of humility he needs.:geauxtige
You know what I am tired of people saying that the id thing was not a big deal. I worked secrutiy at Casino Rouge (now Hollywood Casino), I got promoted to checking ids and you wanna take about serious. To people that dont know it seems like no big deal because most of us have tried to use fake ids to get beer or into clubs. A CASINO is a whole other world. First to even get to that position you have to go through State Police Training in spotting fakes. If a fake id does get on board, and they are caught this is what happens: Casino is shut down for at least an hour, and is fined $15,000 for the 1st offense. The security guards working the id check point at the time lose their jobs and get fined $1,000 each. It is obviously clear with RP that you can take the thug out the hood, but you cant take the thug out the football player! Take away RPs talent and I would bet money he would be wearing an orange jumpsuit sitting in a courtroom.
No reason to flame, but I disagree with this......I don't think the fake id issue is different to the owner/employee of ANY business. They all get slammed if someone underage is caught buying alcohol/gambling etc. The difference is that it's all the same to the kid using the ID; most everyone I know has done this and in my opinion it isn't something that indicates a character flaw like a propensity for violence or hanging out with the wrong crowd would. (like his other transgressions possibly could)
did you call the spud show between 10-11 b/c if you did i think i heard your call b/c i remember someone saying this. i also liked the fact that spud used the jim mora comment "you think you know but you just don't know" referring to all the things that don't get leaked out through LSU, the media, other students, or message board spies.
