Damn, didn't he just graduate from UT.

Checked his bio and he's the youngest Div 1A O coordinator. Was born and raised in BR so that's a plus.

According to a rivals article or a rivals message forum post? There is a huge difference.

He was the QB at Catholic High when Travis Minor was the RB. Great head on his shoulders and stand up guy. However, he does not have the experience to be the LSU OC yet.

Id be willing to bet Major's postion would be a Co-Offensive coordinator or passing game coordinator.

I think he was a QB coach at Texas after he graduated, so that could make more sense.

Slow down, Major Applewhite was contacted by Alabama.

The article does not indicate what position was discussed. The guy is very smart, but 28 years old. He's not about to be the OC for a big time program, unless Saban keeps getting turned down. :hihi:

Not true. Privately Fisher has expressed anger that the bama BOTs nixed his chance to be HC at UAB. He has also stated that his dream job is to be HC at LSU or Auburn and he feels if he went to bama it would all but eliminate any chance to be HC at Auburn. He would have gone to FSU but never to bama. So that makes two former Ass't coaches at LSU to turn down their former boss.....Muschamp and Fisher.

I doubt Nick has much interest in Muschamp. He was made the DC at LSU specifically because he was young and did not get in Nick's way of actually running the defense as head coach. He followed Nick to Miami as an administrative assistant and was not going to be given a coaches job, which is why he left. Some say he was fed up with Nick, others say Nick was dismissive of Muschamp's ability. I see bad blood there, but lots of coaches in the business have to work with people they don't especially like.

Muschamp? Hasn't been contacted, wasn't even considered. The DC position was filled a long time ago. It's been Kevin Steele for a long time...just announced last week publically.

This Bama BOT story kills me. It was the buyout, whether you agree with that or not.

Oh well...probably believe the Curry brick story also, eh?

Re: Bama and FSU No Longer After Fisher

Saban first hired up-and-coming John Thompson to be his DC at LSU. When he arrived and Nick informed him that THompson would be running Nick's defense instead of his own he quit within a month and took a "Co-DC" position at Arkansas. Nick then went looking for a young DC who was perfectly willing to run Nick's defense . . . Will Muschamp.

So, will Steele run Steele's defense or will he run Nick's defense.

It's best when Curry tells it.
