Lateral career move? As I recall the majority thought it was odd, but a step up for him. It did put him in P5.

Kiffin still had a job when Orgeron is pitching him as his offensive coordinator. He's on his way out but he's also interview with other schools--Houston was one.

Is a move from OC at Bama to a HC job like FAU a lateral move, step up, step down? Business Insider was asking the question at the time as were a lot of fans. On a resume I'm leaning toward a lateral move, otherwise a step down in pay that's compensated by a title and freedom. It's a circle.

Given Kiffin's past with Orgeron and moving from one SEC school to another, in the same position and at the same pay, what kind of move would that have been? How would people view Kiffin leaving Bama to LSU, or even leaving Saban to Orgeron? Is that a step down? Step up? Lateral move?
