1. Re: Could we look back on this loss and say that's the day Les Miles star started to

I agree, it's just one ugly lopsided loss that will not happen often with Miles. However the defense is still loaded with talent but seems to miss Bo greatly. I would also add that Lee is obviously not SEC ready and it may take quite some time. I was surprised at how both lines were beaten and hope it was just an off day for them. This is still a very talented team, but the severity of the beating may be cause to lower expectations somewhat. Let's hope they show up to play next week.

It's not like the offensive gameplan was a well kept secret. I think everyone tuning in knew it was hope Scott could run the ball and pray Lee isn't forced to throw. However UF did what every team on LSU's schedule should do, stack the line and dare them to throw. No team is going to run consistently against 8 and 9 man fronts. LSU passing game is very vanilla to keep it simple for the freshman and Lee couldn't hit open receivers on a 5 yard crossing route tonight. It's an offensive disaster waiting to happen. My bigger concern was the lack of a defensive gameplan and the inability of the LB's to stop the run.

EDIT: Oops you wrote defensive gameplan and my brain read offensive gameplan. So the proper response is what defensive gameplan?

That was one Baddd football game... No way to sugarcoat it, LSU sucked on both sides of the ball... The "O" and "D" line is where it all starts & we were outclassed on both sides last night.. That Defense needs fixing NOW!! Hope we do better next week... :milesmic:

I didn't take the time to read any of the posts. I was just disappointed to even see the title of the thread. Let's have some class and support this team. CUM, the Gators, and The Swamp deserve alot of credit.

I guess we could've predicted that with a loss, especially an ugly one, that we'd hear this kind of nonsense from those who still are waiting for any chance to say, "See...I told you Les Miles was a bad hire!"
  6. Re: Could we look back on this loss and say that's the day Les Miles star started to

God man. It was one loss. The last five LSU coaches have lost to Florida at Gainsville by lopsided margins. Let's not panic because of one loss.
  7. Re: Could we look back on this loss and say that's the day Les Miles star started to

One thing I question about the game is the defensive game plan. It did not seem to me that we were doing a lot of blitzing. That was the one thing we should have been doing. If I am wrong about that, someone please enlighten me.
  8. Re: Could we look back on this loss and say that's the day Les Miles star started to

Yes, we should've been blitzing. I mentioned several weeks ago that Tebow was GOING to have some big plays. Knowing that, there was no reason not to bring the house and leave the young corners on an island. If they get beat, they get beat, but to not effectively pressure Tebow is to lose--very badly.

We're not concerned. Les is going to kill in this years recruiting. Bama gets nothing from Louisiana except the passovers.

    You're dreaming.

Yeah, we heard that in 2006, too. Bama still has to play the meat of its SEC schedule, and it could fold like a Chinese fan . . . again.

I agree - it's hard to tell which is the real Bama. The one that showed up for Georgia or the Tulane version. But the same could also be true of LSU. If last night was typical of what to expect of our O and D lines, we could be in serious trouble the rest of the way.
