Juniors and seniors to-be on the USC Trojans' football team, hit with a two-year postseason ban among other punishments, will be allowed to transfer to other FBS programs without having to sit out a season, the NCAA clarified to ESPN on Friday.

mong juniors and seniors whom the transfer rule applies to are quarterback Mitch Mustain, running backs C.J. Gable and Marc Tyler, receiver David Ausberry, cornerback T.J. Bryant, tight end Blake Ayles, safety Drew McAllister and center Michael Reardon.

The exodus from USC will include players who lose their scholarships, as they are going down from 85 to 55.

    75. They can sign 15 players a year and have 75 total on scholarship.

I doubt it with our numbers and even if we did it would be hard to get them all this way. Say we did have room I could only see a LB or OL.

But the numbers right now do not make this a likely option. Add to that we have very impressive LA high school classes from 2011-13 so we would much rather take kids to brighten our future rather than taking basically a JUCO with less eligibility.

Main benefit most teams will see are top guys who would likely be headed to USC go elsewhere and the reduced number of scholarships per year also tie into that.

    Yep.

And I'm quite sure Pete Carroll has already called all those kids to apologize to 'em.

    Sure.

Excellent point. LSU needs to be filling its roster looking at the long term, not the short term.

Mitch Mustain but that would be an unwise option and he is staying at USC well at least he says he is.
