My point is that he hasn't denied talking when a deal has already been done. CTT did that when going to Auburn, and he isn't the only coach to have done it. From my observation, Saban is rather unique about that.

Anybody that wants him to leave isn't thinking clearly. Yes this type of uncertainty is the price for having a Nick Saban. The 2003 National Title is the reward. Heck, even Bear Bryant seriously thought about leaving ABAB for the Dolphins at one point.

If it happens, it happens. Until then, I am happy.

Isn't it better to have a coach that is highly sought after? Did anyone ever worry about Curly H. or Dinardo leaving for another coaching position? How can anyone be angry at Coach Saban when you consider all that he did for not only the University but the pride he brought to this state? I want him to stay, but if he goes to Miami, I will become a HUGE Dolphins fan and thank him for all he did while he was at LSU. It is crazy for anyone to be angry at Nick, and you need to check yourself!!!!!!!

Please stay Coach, but thanks for all you did.

I don't thin it's some evil scheme to mislead us and play with our emotions. People change their minds about things all the time...it happens. I'm not happy about the situation but if he does leave the program isn't going to fall apart...we'll be able to find another good coach if Saban decides to go.:geaux:

I know that all coaches skirt around the questions from the press about leaving, but with your coach having a press conference, it seems like he is trying to keep the fans abreast of his situation. You will know as soon as he makes up his mind, and he is for sure the type of coach and man that will talk with his players before he goes. That is still what the Bama fans hate about coach Fran. He talked all season about how he still had a contract at Alabama and he would sign at the end of the season. Then he goes to A&M and doesn't even have the decency to come back and talk with his players. I Know that it will be hard on you guys if he leaves, because he is a good coach, but if he does all the good things about letting you know, and talking with his team. You have to wish him well.

Here is some food for thought about what Saban has said recently (From teh advocate)

    (Article - http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/121604/spo_lsurecruit001.shtml)
So earlier this month, Owens, the head coach at Tyler (Texas) Lee High School, teased Saban a little.

"He was here just talking, and I asked him how he thought he'd do when he got to Cleveland," said Owens, who has one senior, Ciron Black, who has committed to LSU. "He kind of rolled his eyes and said 'People have my name out there for every NFL job that opens up. I've told them over and over that I'm not interested. I don't know how many jobs I've got to turn down before they figure out I'm not going anywhere.

"I'm happy with the job that I have at LSU and I'm not interested in doing anything else," Saban said in November.

    Hopefully he was being honest...

He had a meeting with his assistant coaches then with the players and talked to them about the Dolphins job yesterday. We just have to wait and see. If he goes then say, "Thank you for turning our program around." If he leaves then we do a National Search and find a good replacement. Our future head coach may already be on our staff. :geaux:

WTF do you want him to say? That Miami wants him but his agent is squeezing them for more money? Also, even knowing he's Miami's top prospect (which is no secret) doesn't necessarily make him interested in the job. I've been with my company for 21 years. I have been approached by other companies on numerous occasions. At times, I was their #1 prospect. I listened, but never seriously considered leaving. Nick Saban is not our parent. He doesn't owe us a damn thing. Quit acting like Nick tucks you in at night and promises to always be there for you.
