Why wouldn't it? I've already paid for two tickets. LSU already has that money and it will be donated to the fund.

If I don't do that, then I'm going to request a refund from LSU. Either way, it'll be $72 donated from my two tickets.

I'd rather my $72 be donated to the fund and have two less ASU fans in the stadium.

Do you know that? What I heard was that the ASU gate receipts were going to be donated. LSU has likely already spent the money we paid for season tickets. I'd rather they donated them than to refund them, but apparently Skip plans to refund them by pro-rating next years ticket invoice.

Okay, okay. I understand that I'm a student & don't have near the financial responsabilities of pretty much every non-student on this board.

I also failed to realize the total costs to most people. If it was going to cost me $700, I wouldn't be able to make the trip either. I'm very fortunate & will be making the game for less than $100.

Which is bullchit, and what I've been complaining about for some time. Cancel/move/postpone all of the games you want, but I want $72 per in my hot hand.

Unless I heard wrong, I thought they were donating the net proceeds of the game to this fund. Net proceeds to me would mean all tickets sold, concessions, etc, minus all expenses.

A hypothetical ... what if the majority of LSU fans with tickets showed up? Would that mean less money going to the fund?

Well, this is the quote from LSU:

"LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe said the Sun Devils will donate proceeds, after expenses, to relief efforts."

To me that says that Arozina State is donating its proceeds. They will not be collecting money from LSU ticket holders, just taking their tickets. It has not been stated that LSU will donate any more than they already have to the Katrina relief efforts--which are considerable.

My wife called the LSU ticket office about the fact we have season tickets but will not be able to attend the game. LSU ticket office said they will pro-rate the cost of this game towards next years tickets. So you will have a credit to your LSU account.

What LSU will probably do is send the money for the cost of tickets of LSU fans who actually attend the game to be put into the Hurricane relief fund. LSU will not take a hit of a lost game. They will probably add the cost of an extra game next year to the cost of season tickets to make up for the loss. Season tickets per a seat were $36 a game for a total cost of $252 for a 7 game home season. LSU will probably raise tickets next year to around $42 a game to make up for the lost game ($36*8=$288/7=$41.14).

    Guess I misunderstood.

A lot of the expense LSU is incurring b/c Katrina will be reimbursed by FEMA, no?

I'm not sure, but we have been directed to account for our time and expenses doing Katrina support. I'm sure FEMA will get some kind of an invoice. But some of our support work has been to state agencies like the OEP and State Police, FEMA may not pay for everything.
