I signed up to Vue a few days ago. I am absolutely loving it. It has all the channels I need and nothing I dont.
This thread is so fucking Greek to me. As long as I can afford it, I'm spending the money on Direct TV, just so I can pick up the f'n remote and know what to expect.
Sony Vue is not for the faint of heart. It takes some getting used to (well a lot of getting used to). I have a friend who is complaining about his cable bill but said he will not be cutting the cord due to ease of use of his Time Warner cable (he has been over to my house to see how Sony Vue works). When his year promotional rate is up in a few months, he may have a change of heart. At that point, he'll be paying about $135 a month vs $35 for the same channel lineups, essentially.
Big news, NFL Network and NFL Redzone being added in time for the upcoming football season. I'm telling you, Sony Vue is going to end up on top of the cable cord cutting companies (aka, the CCCC). If Sling doesn't get it's act together and get the NFL Network channels up and running, you'll see mass defections to Sony Vue in September. I do expect that the NFL channels will probably be some sort of add on package for about the $8 range. That's cool with me. I only need it for 4 months. Only the A&E family of channels to go (and HBO).
http://www.cnet.com/videos/sling-tv-vs-playstation-vue-1-year-later/ CNET review gives all categories to Sony Vue over Sling except "Platform support", and now with Sony Vue supporting Android and Roku, even that advantage has been reduced dramatically for Sling.
Android support? I guess my shield can stream thru its chromecast. I know that wasnt possible a few months ago.
That android box that I linked in a previous post. I am going to upgrade to one of these soon. https://shield.nvidia.com/
Same with me. I've got phone, wifi, & cable TV all thru Xfinity. It's not cheap, but I'm not technology smart enough to pursue other alternatives.
