I hope he has a good game/year. It would be a shame if our QB situation somehow diminishes his draft status. I think he could go in the first round if he improves even the smallest amount. With the pressure our QB's are likely to see, he could have opportunities for some more highlight receptions.
I'll tell you what, if you have seen the Heart of Geauxld video summarizing last seasons NC run, you realize how clutch DByrd was last year - he seemed to make just about every big first down catch or TD needed. You could make a significant case that he was our offensive MVP last year, at least in my eyes. Others may have covered this in past DByrd threads, but I thought I would share my two cents since you brought him up.
No Byrd = No championship I was excited when we got him last year in recruiting. I thought it was critical that we bring on someone with experience to what was an otherwise inexperienced group (save Doucet). He fit in perfectly and made big plays in close games (see Auburn and Alabama).
now that is priceless I also love the "3-2 Bring on LSU sign".....can't believe anybody is proud of that effort
Here is a great pic of "the catch" last year vs Auburn. I wasn't aware it was mostly a one handed catch.
