Lost his mother to cancer when he was in high school and pitched a perfect game on Mother's Day. Having lost my own mother when I was 22, I can't imagine what the emotions were like. Same guy that got on A-Rod for crossing over the mound recently. I'm sure A-Roid has some kind of smug comment in response. Braden's perfect game is something special
Kid has an absolutely remarkable story. This was only the 19th perfect game in MLB history. Kinda cool for him, given some of what he has been through.
For the record i think the David Cone holds the record for least amount of pitches thrown in a perfect game with 88. Braden had 109. There's your useless stat of the day.
Thats averaging just under 10 pitches an inning which is sick. Would be cool to see a 27 strikeout perfect game.
no doubt, 3 pitches an inning, which means a collective of ground out's and fly ball outs. No strikeouts. The world would end if that happened.
