I think it was being reported as a rumor that he had accepted the job. That doesn't stop it from being truthful, which it unfortunately appears to be.

I never thought it wasn't true. I was just saying that the timing wasn't Dunbar's fault because it wasn't like he was the one that came out with the announcement...

It's always hard to keep the lid on something like this. If it's true, let's wish him the best and hope that we can get another good DL coach. It's up to Miles and Pellini.

Gradin99 tells me you're the Zap Master.

I take it you didn't like the pain pill reference the other night?

His decision to leave, yes. But if he wanted this other position, I imagine it was either a now or never proposition. He had no choice on when that part could occur. And I could guess that he would have liked to keep the decision private for another week or 2 to help LSU. It wasn't him that decided to come out & announce his decision right now.

id imagine they value dunbar enough to let him take the position but keep it under wraps if that was his intention but who knows.

I dunno. I didn't really make any guesses as to whether that's the case. I was saying that I think he would have liked to keep it under wraps. From what I know about this situation right now, it wasn't Dunbar that let this leak...

There was nothing in this mornings Star Tribune about Dunbar. There might ge something tomorrow morning. The new owner of the Vikings isn't shy about spending money on a coaching staff so you figure the money's most likely pretty good--more than what LSU can pay. If it's true, it's best for all concerned that Dunbar go as soon as possible. This is better than rumors.

Man bad bad news, I really liked Dunbar and think he would be a great recruiter since he played at LSU and in the NFL. Really suprised and sorry to see him go but wish him well and I'm glad he came back for at least one season.
