as stated many times by many people wiser and less smarter than myself....for any sport/competition on this level and above, a referee should not decide the outcome of such important games yet they did in 2 critical SEC power matches. That last call didnt cost us the game but in no way is that call ever made in regular play much less on the last play of regulation. Hope that ref sleeps well knowing he will be scrutinized for it by thousands of people. Ohio State's NC comes to mind as an example.
So if somebody punches me and dosen't say anything and I call him a MuthaF**ker when I punch him back that makes me the guilty party? :dis:
As I said, it was not the right call. The ref made an idiotic call. He completely ignored the obvious mutual fight and only flagged one player. I know he saw both punches as he was standing right there watching it. So, I assume he did not flag for a punch and flagged for words said.
1) I, too, see it as offsetting in the Tenn game. I see no other choice. 2) the tv crew said #9 drew the penalty. They said the rule states that a player cannot land on his own team member when they attempt to jump and block a kick. You mean he HAS to land on the other teams players or simply on his own two feet? If so, then you can't make a running attempt to block. You have to push their offensive linemen back into the kick? Your defensive backs have to look like they are riding pogo sticks? I agree with the rule about trying to run up your own player's back....but this, I don't really understand. 3) Did anyone see that ____ ____ player from Miami? He breaks a long one. As he is about to cross the goal, he DIVES, twisting his body. It almost looked like a sideways jack knife off the high board. A real show out. If I had been the db chasing him, I would have done the same show out dive and landed on his stupid ass. Seems like Miami does that every week end. Wonder if he got a flag? LSU WILL KICK MSU'S NATURAL BORN BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 bull**** calls. I hope that the ref's don't become as crappy as the NFL guys but they ande at least 2 calls yesterday that played a major fole in deciding the game and they were both wrong and needless. Prude did not touch the ball so his jump did nothing to the play and Fla was a dead ball foul. Neither one cahnged the play but both calls changed the game.
