I know Petrino is in the mix for the lsu job, but I want Dan Hawkins. I know Dan want come, but I love his gimmick offense. IF he had our talent, this guy would be great. Hawkins only get the Pac 10 left overs, He is by far the best coach on the west coast ( and Pac 10 for sure)

Would he do great at LSU?

Not at this juncture, he would need another stepping stone like a Big Least job before I would think that he could compete in the SEC... but from his comments he wants to build a good program in Boise and he is getting better facilities now.

Hawkins would probably take the offer but, I don't think  would make one to him in the first place.

His team plays with a lot of grit. He's doing a great job there.

Hawkins was considered a candidate at the U. of Washington this year before the position went to Willingham. Basically, Hawkins declined the UW job by inking a new deal with BSU. (I think I have that right.) The year or two before that, he was alleged to be a candidate at Ore. State when Erickson left, but they couldn't pass up on Riley coming back. Hawkins is well known throughout the PNW, but is not quite as known elsewhere. I tend to agree that he isn't ready for a big-time SEC program. Just my $.03.
