Dandy Don= lack of info,fundraising and re-reporting Advocate News

    Don makes no claim to be an insider that I know of. Nor is he a "major media" outlet. His site is about being a synthesis of public information about the Tigers and is a good place to find such. He gets a ton of email from fans and is a good source for what the fans are asking and saying. He gets email from players and former players, but is very discrete about using their names, as he should be.

    Looking for something negative about LSU? . . . go to Tigerdroppings. Looking for hard insider recruiting news? . . . subscribe to Rivals or Scout. Don is where to go for people talking about LSU.

    Don Long was a high school referee for many years, has seen a lot of high school football, and still attends many high school games. One of his virtues is keeping up with Louisiana high school football and football talent which he summarizes for us on a free site.

    Until I read the last post, I thought you guys were talking about Dandy Don Meredith. And, that just confused me because I never knew he was affiliated with LSU. The only connection I can link Dandy Don with La is the King of the Hill Episode, where Dandy Don misses that throw in the Superdome. And, according to the episode, Dany Don lives in New Mexico so there's no La. connection there. Then, again, you can't trust everything on that show- who can forget its potrayal of New Orleans and we know that can't possibly be true. :thumb:

    yeah all those interviews with the prospects that HE called and posted for you to read for FREE is totally just regurgitated news. what a total jerk DD is for doing that.

    If you don't like him or his site, don't donate and don't go read the damn thing. He's not forcing you to donate or read his site.

    I like DDon's site. It's simple and a quick read with no navigation required. Obviously, he is a huge Tiger fan with good intentions. Yeah, he screws up once in a while. So do I.

    As for his fundraising, I doubt he's getting rich. Seems more of a labor of love for LSU. I can't hold that against him.

    You are right about that. Pretty much only need the scroll button. He has to have the longest index page on the web.
