How does it feel to go 12-0, win the SEC, and play in a BCS Bowl only to have your division rival and your big daddy tossing around the idea of plucking your coach right from under your nose? That must suck...

Think about it - people are suggesting that Tubs would be interested in trading up - what does that say about Auburn and your football program?

Tubs would entertain the idea of leaving the trailor parks of Alabama behind and come on down to the Bayou where we are fully committed to our football program. Rumors or not, to even suggest that Tubs would walk really puts you Barners in your place...

Auburn - what a dump, what an insult to higher education. Check it out: Auburn Article

As much as I prefer Butch over him, I don't think that Riley would be that bad of a choice. He's done a very good job at OSU which is located out in the middle of nowhere and he has to directly compete with the bottomless pockets of Oregon (ie. NIKE) for the area's best recruits. He is a top notch recruiter and a high energy guy. Think Ron Zook.

Yeah, yeah I know. Don't think crappy W/L record Ron Zook. Think the high energy, top notch recruiter Ron Zook. Hopefully Riley would surround himself with better coaches than Zook.

I like your list but I would swap Petrino and Chow.

I'm not completely sold on Mike Riley. He may be a quality coach, but I'd prefer someone who has won a big game or two. Tuberville has won big games but wouldn't be accepted by most fans. Tommy Bowden is only mediocre at best. It's hard to name a can't-miss candidate at this point, although if Jack Tedford can get out of his new contract, he would be my choice. Mike Price wouldn't be bad either.

Go back to see the wizard ... and then

And ask the wizard to give your coach the following:

A brain to keep his BIG YAP SHUT and a heart to add "human" to the man's actions AFTER A FB game ... FOR A BETTER "PERCEPTION" as a Coach instaed of a joke

"PERCEPTION" ... WHERE AU LOST THEIR NC SHOT THIS YEAR

Other than that ... ditto BB :hihi:

Saban ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

In the business world, a stalking horse is frequently used in instances such as these. And that's what Tuberville is.... a stalking horse. Sexton is simply name-dropping as leverage (both real and perceived) for upcoming contract negotiations. Tuberville will not be a valid candidate for the LSU HC position, assuming it even becomes available.

It's easy to understand the dislike that some LSU fans have for Tuberville. He's guilty of using the same contract tactics that Saban is currently using at LSU, only he did it at Ole Miss and Auburn. And he was lambasted by the media and it's hoards of sheep.

They're not that unlike really, IMO. Tuberville has not done his image any favors by some of his past actions, but truth be told, he has improved immeasurably..... particularly on the field. There have been many times in recent seasons where running up the score would've helpful in grabbing additional attention, and instead Tubby has taken a knee.

Like in the Butch Davis examples, Tuberville inherited a sanction-weakened program and re-built burned bridges from the Bowden-era. Auburn's recruiting network was in shambles following TB. Quite a recovery job by Tubs if you ask me. (Those of you indicating acceptance of Bowden as a candidate don't have a freakin' clue)

The point is this. Hate Tubby if you want, but no sensible football fan would deny that Tubby is a good, solid, SEC-caliber coach. He is. His record supports it. It is fact.

LMAO, caddy, do you want me to dredge up some posts from last year from the AU board so we can see how many sensible fans you have :)
The point is Tubberville has a senior led team at all the key spots and that's the reason for your success, NOT TUBBERVILLE OR BORGES

I know you don't agree, but you will see a completely different team that will struggle next year, as typical of a TT team.

I never claimed that sensibility was limited to one group of fans. No doubt that many AU fans are also among the sheep......
