Darius Jones - Football Recruiting Per a tigerbait article, Jones, an athlete, has us in his top 3 along with OU & A&M. He says that we are recruiting him as a DB, with OU recruiting him as an athlete and A&M recruiting him as a WR. I haven't watched any film of him yet, but he sounds very similar to current commit Drayton Calhoun. Could he be a back-up plan in case Calhoun switches to UGA as many of their fans feel he will?
I don't think we do. If the coaching staff believes Calhoun is a legit offensive player, then maybe they are going after another DB, or a backup plan as CParso mentioned.
It depends. Supposedly Janzen Jackson could be a Safety, and Calhoun could be a slot-WR, but I see both of these guys as CBs. We only need 2 CBs (and 1 Safety) in this class, so if they are both CBs there's no need, but if not then I guess so.
I guess we my have enough depth at 11 CB's if all of the guys penciled in for CB stay there. Hopefully a bunch of them are as good as advertised and a couple are even better but I'm thinking at least a few of them end up at other positions.

He is most likely about to commit to A&M but he is bashing on LSU in the process. He and his mom are saying that there is nothing special about LSU, he and his mom did not like the atmosphere, and the location of the campus, etc... Pretty strange considering he said this after the camp last month: “I really liked how the campus was so big and the people were so friendly,” he said. “I could tell as soon as I got there that I was going to like it. It was like I was back at home. I don’t know really know why but it just felt like I was at home. “My mom really liked the academic center,” he added. “She liked how it was so big and they had so much help for you. She said if you can’t get it done here then you can’t get it done anywhere.” Then listed LSU, OU, and A&M as his top 3. :lol: Well there is a possible explaination. Word from some A&M fans and others is that he tried to commit to LSU recently and we said we could not accept it at this time.:wink:
