Anything you can do WHILE drinking beer is not a sport. However if women are allowed to play on the mens tour men should be allowed to play on the womens tour, fair is fair. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I always say that if your gunna let women go into mens sports, whether its golf, tennis or whatever, guys in high schools should get to play volleyball.
Come on guys. For the most part this is a marketing ploy. We have a 15 year old girl who just waxed 40% of the field in a PGA Tournament and I don't want to hear that this is a weak field (it is) but it is still the premier golf tour on the planet. That is unbelievable. But if it wasn't for Michele Wie nobody would have cared about the John deere classic. If I was a tournament director for a lesser PGA tour event I would kill to have her in my tournament. We are very fortunate to be able to see something like this young lady during our lifetimes. It may never happen again. As for her or Annika playing on the PGA tour, there is obviously no rule excluding women. On the other hand there is a rule on the LPGA tour excluding men, for obvious reasons. No woman, with the possible exception of Babe Zaharias (sp) could compete with the men on the PGA tour (Annika, by far the best current LPGA player realizes that she could not compete with the men, sure she could probably make a cut here or there but that would be about it) until now. Michelle believes that she can and I wouldn't bet against her. :dis:
For the people who said that men should play on the womens tour.... First there is a huge difference in the tourney setup from the PGA to the LPGA tour. The fairways for the LPGA Tour are not watered weeks prior to the tourney to get them hard for more roll. Also the stimp of the greens are about 9-9.5. In the PGA they stimp from 10-12. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Also, the ground for the PGA tour is saturated with water to get no roll. It is a fact that most men are stronger than women, therefore the rough is thick and tall for the PGA Tour and not so much for the LPGA Tour. You can take the person in last place in the money on the PGA Tour which prolly is like ranked 450th and he will dust any of the Ladies on their tour due to this. Yardage plays a major factor as well. Wie can hit the ball 290 and she has a phenomonal iron game. But she proved she is not strong enough to get the ball out the rough. No women is. This is why men will never play in the LPGA Tour and why women will always be welcomed.
I'm all for women playing in the PGA if they qualify like everyone else. Taking up a player's spot without qualifying is wrong.
