    Philter,
Here it is from a sponser's eyes.
Our best player for the week is David T.
Everyone is overseas. How can we put people in the gallery and boost our TV ratings. There you have it. Wie

Given this is a sports forum, I thought there was no "i" in WE.

What people do not remember is that the PGA officials has a job to do. They have to get people to come watch the event. Is it right that Spencer Levin get an exemption? He hasnt made a PGA cut in 3 tries but is till getting exemptions. People want to see him and Ryan Moore out there because of there amatuer career, same way people want to see Wie.

I didn't say I don't understand why they do it...hell, I watched her play to see if she'd make the cut too. I'm just saying I'd rather they qualify like every up and coming tour player.

O.K., I think I got your point... like the midget Bill Veeck used to get a walk when he was running the old St. Louis Browns.

Did you know Bill Veeck was responsible for planting the ivy at Wrigley field? Yup, he would have made hay out of Wie.

I'm sure Ms. Wie is proud of your "usage" of her.

the pga should be open to all sexes. if they want to restrict it to men, they should call it the mpga.

but lots of guys get into tournaments without qualifying, thats what sponsor exemptions are for. do you think sponsor exemptions should be limited to men or abolished?

As an amateur, which have reserved spots. If she went to qualifying school and earned her card, it would be better imo. I'm not whining, I've thought about this issue maybe 6 times in my life, and 5 are on this thread...and I like watching her compete (I actually think she could qualify, she already has qualified for the US Mens amateur championships...and she's only 15).

I wouldn't rule out her actually winning a lower level tournament one day, she's got a long life ahead of her.
