Vitter is an empty suit and deserves no respect. I don't think he has any principles I guess that makes him fit right in with Jindal. He is also a fool and running for gov proves it. Though he won't have to give up his seat I think he'll lose if there is a viable alternative which will likely do him in when he runs for senate re-election.
There you have it. The only reason he won last time is the lack of a strong candidate in opposition. The democrats in Louisiana are apparently leaderless. You'd think that weak democrats and radical republicans would be an opportunity for a no-party moderate to get his foot in the door. But it takes so much cash to buy an election these days that they are effectively locked out. Dardenne is as close to a moderate republican that we have in Louisiana. It will be interesting to see how he does in the face of the ultra-right-wing money that will flow to Vitter.
