he prob couldve of scored, but maybe he just got close bc he knew they could punch it in while taking time off the clock and preventing ALA time for a drive--- if so, then he's a pretty smart dude

Yeah, that's probably why he always falls down or runs out of bounds. Probably when he alligator armed that pass, it was because he was trying to stop the clock. :rolleye33:

You always take the TD when you can get it. They are not guaranteed in the red zone.

And yes, I was just about to say he should have scored a TD on that Alabama reverse. Without a doubt he took the easy route out. Dude has the potential to be a mismatch nightmare but refuses to step up. We need more Michael Clayton's and Dwayne Bowe's on the field ready to demolish a DB on a block or just plow him over on a run.

Peterson clearly pulled up on that play. He's a talented guy, but he's not physical.

I remember an article on that play "River left". Peterson was interviewed and said something along the lines of I could of dove for the endzone but I didn't want to fumble and honestly who could blame him. The kid has abilitiy but its hard to question his drive when there were numerous errors going on with our receiving core last year.

No, actually it isn't hard to question his drive. Are you just going off memory? Because I can literally provide three or four more examples on video where he either stepped out to avoid contact, or fell inside the 5 to avoid contact. (since he wasn't near a sideline)

Trust me dude, he has played soft since he's been at LSU. The reason he doesn't have more to show for his career at LSU is because he doesn't get on the field as much as possible. The reason he doesn't is because Miles would rather someone who has the 'want'.

I hope DP steps it up this season, and am fully aware he has the skillset and physical presence to dominate. But he needs to channel his inner Jacob Hester and play like the beast he could be.

What's sad about it is that he could be the next Shannon Sharpe (prototype, or Jermichael Finley). He is built that way. The only thing holding him back is himself.

Yeah, and unfortunately, I don't know if toughness is something that can be taught. Seems like you would either have it or you wouldn't. . .

lots of guys have the skills and the size but you cant unteach fear or teach heart. reggie bush is the prime example. deek nailed it. this dude is soft and thats never going to change.

he may play a couple of years in the nfl due to talent alone and poor scouting by cincinatti but its likely going to end soon after.

I know Joseph is more of a blocking TE and Peterson a receiving TE but would appreciate if someone could provide 1-10 rankings for blocking/receiving (separately) for all of our TEs that are expected to get significant playing time.

For example, Joseph a 9 blocker / 5 receiver and Peterson the reverse(?). What about Clement and some of the others?
