Why in the hell did you settle for a 44 1/2 yard FG instead of passing the ball at least one more time to try and get within 30-35 yards? Your special teams can't protect your kicker. Why did you want to see a repeat of the blocked kick?
Dear islstl, Because I am not qualified to coach major college football. Or even junior college, or junior high football for that matter. I cannot coach Pop Warner because the parents would kick my butt. I am uniquely qualified to talk trash to much superior SEC coaches who can actually coach football and win games. I thought the same thing...there were roughly 43 seconds remaining after they completed that pass to the tight end for the 1st down. so they ran the ball and just let the clock wind down...must have been super frustrating for UT fans to have pissed that opportunity away.
Tennessee would only have 1 win if it wasnt for Monte Kiffin. He has brought that defense along nicely.
That little maneuver he pulled was very literally one of the worst decisions a head coach has ever made. not only was his kicker 0-2 from that exact distance, but neither kick even got to the crossbar. What the hell was he thinking?
some coaches are not meant to make decisions come crunch time they just can't think clearly at that point this was one of those cases it's either that or he's a moron...take your pick
Absolutely unreal. I was so mad watching them settle for a field goal after those other two misses. The ONLY thing I could figure is he didn't want to risk the turnover. Sorry dude! This was not a tie situation where the worst you could do was go to over time. YOU HAD TO SCORE! Get closer, or possibly don't rely on your kicker at all! This game made me so mad!
It didn't make me mad that they lost because we needed bama to win but it did drive me crazy that someone could make such a poor decision.
