1. .....perilous proposals like raising to 70 the age at which people can claim their full Social Security benefits.....

Push this to forcefully, and I suspect the boomers will march on Washington.

Boomers have paid ss taxes for about 40 years. And now, just when they're approaching retirement, the government tries to radically change the rules. I don't think they/we will stand for it. I believe, low and Middle income, republican and democrat, will unite against this.
  2. Only reason I posted that is because he is the only republican I have seen so far that is willing to raise taxes on the wealthiest americans.

  3. Yeah yeah I get that, but where does it stop?

If 47% don't even pay taxes at all how do you justify making those that already pay pay even more?
  4. B/c he wants the rich people's money.

  5. I'm not asking you to debate the article numbnuts. I'm waiting to see your comments, or you can just do the cop out thing. Either way its another win/win for me. :D

Ha ha, I should have said wynn/wynn:thumb:
  6. Which is a big problem. If you are trying to get someone to kick a drug habit you don't give them more drugs. So lets see, Washington has a spending problem so the dems come up with the solution to give them more money? Give me a break.
  7. The sad part is that has pretty much been the GOP playbook as well.
  8. agreed

  9. Yet how many times has that number been pushed farther and farther away? Hell If I remember correctly, when SS started they set the age at which you could collect a few years past the age of the average life span at that time. This was a doomed policy from its inception.
