"Winning is a thing that is inherent in how you were raised. It's something you carry with you for a lifetime. And to pretend it's brought, or deposited, at a place and left it is not." [sic] This is what Miles said to McElroy. Let's keep that in mind.

Here is another situation where you, LaSalle, can't have it both ways. You laud what Miles said to McElroy about "winning being inherent." But, in the same breath, you choose to say "LSU made Nick Saban, not the other way around."

If you choose to believe that winning is inherent, as Miles stated, then it was inherent in Saban when he arrived at LSU.

If you choose to believe it's something that "can't be deposited at a place" LSU couldn't have made Saban.

The suggestion Saban was a nobody before he landing in BR is ludicrous. You may have not been familiar with him. Those who followed college football as a whole knew who he was. In fact, those who just followed SEC football knew who he was as well. The Michigan State vs Florida Citrus bowl game following the 1999 season was one of the best games that New Years day.

Miles has done way more than most coaches in college. Look at the teams that you could always put in the top 15 every year. Miami, Penn St, Fla, Mich, ND, Tx, Neb, etc. all these teams have been on a Roller Coaster Ride, during the time Les has been here at LSU. Some have pulled out of it, some have not.

Oh but I am, He coached Toledo, and Michigan State, and the Cleveland Browns as a coordinator. And yes he was a NOBODY before he came to LSU. He had no big 10 titles, nothing but mediocrity in Cleveland and 1 really good season for Toledo. I remember LSU kicking his ass in the Independance bowl. Just because you cant take his pecker out of your mouth to admit he wasn't shit before he got to LSU really speaks to the fact that you are just another gump who would lick shit off of his boots if he asked you to. Same way Les Miles wasn't shit before he came to LSU. LSU made Nick Saban, LSU made Les Miles.

@LaSalleAve So, what we are left with is you applauding Miles for what he said even though you disagree? Need I remind you what Miles actually said here?

LSU no more made Saban than it did Miles. If we assume LSU made both, what happened with DiNardo? What happened with Hallman?

I'm not sure if it's your fandom or hatred that skewers your view. No matter what school, no matter what coach, it's a combination of the two that leads to success. One doesn't, and never has, made the other.

There can be a valid argument made that some schools give coaches a distinct advantage to success. Paul Dietzel had three good seasons at LSU and was never able to duplicate that success at Army or South Carolina.

Saban did a very good job at LSU, especially in regard to changing the fanbase. And getting the athletes academic center built. He also recruited very well and helped to get NOLA kids to respect LSU again. But when he got here LSU had a ton of talent on board, Dinardo was also a very good recruiter who might have had a bunch of success here of he would have changed defensive coordinators.

You are hopeless. Nothing you have stated precludes the idea that Saban albeit a coach on the rise, was still a fuckin nobody. Shine that dog turd all you want, it's still going to taste like shit.

Slice it any way you want, but Saban has won the exact same number of SEC Championships at LSU as Les Miles has.

Also, Saban has won just as many BCS titles at LSU as Miles has, so to attempt to put Miles on a pedestal compared to Saban when it comes to LSU football is being intellectually dishonest.

Saban never won an AP Championship at LSU, however; I'll throw you that bone. That said, a 2-loss team was never meant to reach the championship game since the BCS was invented; the 2007 team was an anomaly.

Down in back. Miles has won more championships in his eight years at LSU than the fighting cowbells have in the history of their program.

Prior to LSU 1 MAC title with Toledo and it was a tie. Wow, what a guy. What a fucking guy, no wins against anyone with any importance. In fact, had Skip not taken a chance on him, he wouldn't be Alabama's coach right now. So, Alabama should thank Skip Bertman, that's what Les should have fired back saying.
