No, I don't think the call should be overturned after I watched the replay. The replay actually made me feel more positive about call on the field which is a pick by Eric Reid. The ball started to bubble before the receiver's back touched the ground.
I couldn't believe that, I was screaming holding, one of our guys, didn't catch who it was yet was taken down! I kept thinking they were going to overturn that INT but to me clearly Bama TE was juggling the ball so he did not have control of the ball and then Reid just took it away. Gary Danielson, I believe that was his name kept saying it was going to be reversed and I didn't understand for the life of me how that could be the case. I have watched football all of my life and don't understand how he could say that except for suspense. I was also then thinking about that PP INT that wasn't from a few years back!
Not missed, they just weren't called. Another Bama game with ZERO holding penalties. Of course, I don't think we had any holding penalties either. May be wrong about that, but I don't recall any.
When Anderson saw the back angle that I reference above, he changed his tune immediately and thought that LSU would keep the ball.
Just for fun I made a bunch of LSU bingo cards for this game. One of the squares was "Incompetent Replay Officiating" Once I saw the replay I let it be known that a call in Bama's favor would count for this square. It looked an awful lot like LSU football. But SEC replay officials do some amazing things.
Seriously.. the 24 yard run Richardson had had 2 holds and an illegal hands to the face that were not called.
I recall a couple of holds where an LSU lineman was taken to the ground. Very obvious, no call. Oh, and yes, I had a bad feeling the int. would be overturned.
Yeah I did. After jumping up, screaming and a few high-fives I saw the first replay and sat down saying it may be Bama's ball on the 1. I thought the simultaneous thingy may kick in.
