    Speaking of announcers, does anyone know why ESPN in effect demoted Ron Franklin to the deuce? In my opinion, Franklin is the best announcer for a college football game. Seems odd. Did he say something like "That was gay"?

    Patrick moved to college football when ESPN lost the NFL Sunday night game. ESPN shuffled their announcing big time. They paired Blackledge (who they got from CBS) with Patrick, Gottfried moved to day games on ESPN and is paired with the female announcer. Franklin picked up a new analyst whose name escapes me. I think he's a former USC QB and he's not very good. It's a shame. I agree that Franklin is probably ESPN's best college FB announcer and deserved better.

    Edited to Add: Ed Cunningham is Franklin's new analyst.
