At 14-0, I thought if we could re-group, we still had a shot. Get a drive, get a TD, defense hold em. At 14-7, the plan was working. Blocked punt put a major hurt on us. Down 21-7, it would be hard, but possible to come back, still plenty of time, remember the Bama game. But when they added the FG, and we were down 24-7, and they had outplayed us for an extended time, I thought it would be a miracle to win.
IMO, the play that turned the game around was Niswanger's personal foul. After going down 21-7, we take the ball and drive it down to UGA's 30, then the smartest player on the field makes a bonehead play that killed our momentum and drive. But I thought we were still in the game until we came out in the 2nd half and went 3 and out on our first possession. That's when I thought it was over and started some serious drinking.:hihi:
IMO, it wasn't just limited to Niswanger's foul, but rather the entire , undisciplined play of the LSU team. The sheer volume of talent allowed LSU to overcome many of its problems this season, but when an undisciplined effort gives a good team like UGA the number of breaks they got yesterday, the law of percentage is bound to catch up ..... and it did. If there's one single, noticable difference between Miles and Saban, its the discipline Saban instilled in and demanded of his players.
