I had no idea they made these. I loaned my 15 cup cooker out for a rehearsal supper and the pot got returned sans lid. Looking on net for replacement parts and I see these digital ones. Anyone here have any insight on the pro's and con's of them?

I had an aroma 8 cup digital cooker. Don't really have any cons that I can think of. You could steam vegetables while cooking rice at the same time with the one I had.

I saw something I didn't understand. At least on some, you can program them for hours ahead. How does that work because it seems like it wouldn't due to the rice soaking up the water beforehand.

This should come as a shock to no one, but I use a pot with a lid and add fire.

If going to fork up for one of those might as well pay a little more and get a pressure cooker. I use a pressure cooker almost every night for dinner and it saves me a ton of time on cooking and time spent on cleaning pots, pans, etc...

How hard is it? Cups to rice, etc.

The same measurements 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. I use slightly less water. Then press the rice button and done in 10 min or so.
