Gulibeau has a bit more to say in his blog – http://www.theadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770611017 That’s just childish. Once again Guilbeau just has to concoct something to elevate St. Nick to mythical status. If Perrilloux had been interested in LSU, does anyone really believe that Saban would have turned him away? I’ve followed the story. I don’t have Guilbeau’s sources, but do we really know what he is claiming? Has that been in print and attributed to a source or is Guilbeau trying to pass off a rumor as fact just to help make his “point?” Guilbeau has been ridiculous about almost anything to do with Saban since he left. He ranted and raved about how bad LSU’s 2005 recruiting class was, pointing to all the rankings saying LSU barely had a top 20 class. We had what, 13 scholarships that year? And in reality it was a top 5 class if you ranked in terms of quality of recruits instead of overall points. With limited scholarships for a class, that’s the only reasonable way to look at it. I still don’t get his line about how Saban handled the events of 911 at least as well as Miles handled the much overblown effects of the hurricanes. That’s just beyond reaching and just shows that Guilbeau has an agenda when he writes editorials…
I've never heard this. It's his blog so I guess he can post whatever he wants. I would take the lack of source as a hint to how true it is.
i kinda feel dirty doing so, but i agree with guilbeau on flynn, the wide receivers, and the O-line. but i disagree with him on the running game even though the O-line is part of that. i think we have so many effective guys, it won't matter as long as the o-line blocks. whereas if flynn struggles we could be screwed. i'm a little worried about doucet being the only go-to guy at wideout. not saying lafell or others can't/won't step up, but it's an unproven unit, and most teams will double doucet most plays. i think if the offense can click, limit mistakes, and avoid injury especially at qb and tackle, LSU will be hard to beat b/c the D is scary good.. i also disagree about the fans, he paints us with too broad a brush. but i usually read a guilbeau article and disagree with 80% of it. this was around 50-50.
That faint sound Red Sox Fans hear is the approach of Yankee footsteps. Be afraid, Bosox. Be very afraid.:hihi:
