What is your reference, please? It's not necessarily that I doubt you, but it's such an amazing coincidence that hiding it for 2 years would have been difficult. Weren't they both coaches at Colorado at the same time? Edit: Yep, I checked...Miles was an assistant at Colorado from '82 to '86, along with Dinardo, who was there from '82 to '90. Being that they're both offensive coaches who worked together for some time, I don't see it as out of the ordinary that they became good friends. For the record, I don't see how it should be significant.
It's not all that strange. My dad was a high school football coach for 30 years, and it's like a fraternity of sorts. Even the rivals were pretty good friends. The sad thing is that now my dad is starting to attend funerals for some of those guys...
