I think a lot of that comes from having the play in fast enough that we can break the huddle with 17-20 seconds left on the play clock. Also, the substitution process was much clearer. This offense looked way more organized than the one we ran last year. Coach Stud & Coach Krags deserve a lot of credit for cleaning this up. Here's hoping the trend continues (which it should).

    Add the discipline on D

The Ducks make a living by breaking you down and hitting wide open uncovered guys ! Not against LSU - amazing 1st game for the Tigers

Yes, let's not discount what our defense accomplished. Oregon will be right back to running all over their opponents because they will not be facing SEC-caliber defenses.

True, but the PAC 10 D coordinators will spend a lot of time studying our defensive game plan and seeing if there is anything they can incorporate into their game plan. It would obviously also help if they had some of our players.

Good post, lots of talk with the D. Was some cleaning on the Offense. Like I said before this game, didn't need a major overhaul. This team will improve from game one to game two.

Probably the best example of an LSU team playing smart and composed football we've seen under Miles. It was refreshing to see the other team rack up all the penalties for a change.

Our players out mans the player in front of them. In the one on one matchup, our guys are stronger and faster. They win the fight.
The uo defensive backs won the fight aginst our young receivers. That needs work. You have to fight for position. You have to fight for the ball. They beat us there. Uo will have one of the top defenses in the country when it comes to pass defense.

To me it was a sign that they got intimidated and outplayed by the scary LSU defense:thumb:

The offensive mistakes were few and far between. I haven't decided on why yet. Crowton had so many player packages running in and out caused confusion. Jj was also confused and took too much time checking out of plays. There is no way to know if jj would have been less confused or not. I do see a more confident offense. This offense has a Miles feel to it. The use of a fullback so often makes me think of this.
