I can't speak for all schools, but over the last few years I've seen figures that range from 125 to 175K. A lot depends on if they have other responsibilities. As example, say our new OL coach is also co-OC I'd expect him to be in the 200K+ range. I've thought if you put Ferentz at a bigger school an Iowa, he'd have a lot of success.
Obviously, there's a lot of "chat" about Ferentz's salary versus 2006 performance on our board... a few posters even wanting him "gone"... amazing to me. He sure was a bargain from 2001 thru 2004. In 2005, we were four points from being 9-2 going into the bowls. But the good news is we're Iowa... and if Ferentz has a couple more bad years and splits, we'll just run out and hire Pete Carroll away from USC.. . We could just go hire Saban, but some of our fans are starting to think he's two-faced. Our farmers would have a problem with that....
I think it's coming b/c of his contract. I thought I read that his contract states that he has to be the 5th highest paid coach in the SEC if he wind 10 games in consecutive seasons (anyone w/ better info on his contact can please confirm or correct me if I'm wrong). After looking at the list, that would get him about $300K more to match Spurrier. You would think that Skip would do better than that after the past 2 seasons, but you never know.
Funny thing. Aggy is happy. $2 million. They beat Texas. Nevermind they got punked by Cal in the Holiday.
Its kind of funny that many posters on this board didnt agree with Miles getting a raise last year after only one year with LSU. Which is very understandable. Now, we all agree he deserves more.
Mark Mangino is making more than Les Miles. I think Les should be given a raise to that of Fulmer, putting him at #10.
yeah, but just think, Chris Peterson only makes $640,000 a year, and has won more BCS games this year than Fat Charlie has in his career. :thumb:
