This was a big hit ...

Mangas had the 1-2-3 cause and effect for the Saints Peyton Ball schemes!

He was balls deep into an 80+ hour per week opponent breakdown scheme that led us to routs in all our games of importance.

He helped get Brady that 1-2-3-4-5 Top plays to call per Down and distance against teams using new age statistics the Peyton Way.

He was the last guy who cudda spoke up and said “Hey, Brady wudda called this”

He cudda done a lot to help the Minger, who now is sole Executive of Offensive Assignments to his new coaches and analysts to duplicate and get better at (open the playbook further) to get to a 60% pass vs run ratio

We got to 53% last year ...

We’ll evolve (hopefully) to that 60% pass 40% Run ratio. We got the horses at RB and we’ll never likely have better WRs as overall group

2020 is our year with a solid OL albeit unproven as a Unit.

Myles Brennan is our Heisman Hopeful!

We’ll be favored in every game until December and should not lose a game.

    The Five Big Qs:

    1. Can Ensminger pull it off leading the pack?

    2. Can Ensminger execute best playcalling on game days in critical downs?

    3. Can Myles Brennan take SEC big hits?

    4. Can Cregg Reload the OL to be dominant?

    5. Can Orgeron score with his LAST FOUR SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS (Late signees and transfers)?

These five points will be the tell as to whether LSU repeats as SEC champ or drops a big game

It’s gonna be one helluva ride now that the bar has been set to heights never imagined before!

I hate that we lost him too, but the new guys aren't afraid of 80hr work weeks. I'm not sure what 'new age statistics' are, but if Oeaux sees value there, then you can bet the they'll all learn to use them. They're also experienced coaches who can break down tape and study tendencies. And supposedly, one of Linnehan's strengths is creative calls on 3rd downs and in the red zone. And while we had great success running elements of it last year, Sean Payton's scheme is not the be all end all. It will still be in place, but with additions from other influences. (I heard an interview with Payton one time where he said that he and his staff review film from every NFL game and they will incorporate plays from other teams that they think the Saints can have success with; proving the NFL is a copycat league.)

Again, it's too bad that we lost him but there was really no way to keep him. Sure, there will be things that he brought to the table that we will lose, but lets see what the new guys bring. Its really all we can do anyway.

I think Oeaux got the best hands he could all things considered. The two year contracts on most are a concern but the bait (carrot) there is that they get big raises with performance

It’s called “Analytics” or advanced stats breaking down every part of the game into meaningful portions where:

    stats can be obtained
Baseline values obtained on the portion
    Improvement targeted and ultimately achieved

There are training courses out there for coaches now and it’s one of the things that “used to set Saban apart from the rest” ... Oeaux has his #

    Some of these stats are:

    Adjusted pace:
    Adjusted sack rate:
    Adjusted turnover margin:
    Efficiency:
terms of success in CFB are:
50% of necessary yardage on first down, 70% on second and 100% on third and fourth.
    Explosiveness
Havoc —> Explodes with Pelini back
    Opportunity rate
    Second-order wins
    Standard Down run rate
    Stuff Rate

Some you may have heard us discussing ...
    1. ESPN FPI SYSTEM: . ranks LSU #12 and has me seriously pissed off in preseason but it’s good because we kill them in casinos again!

The joke is that LSU ended at #3 after stomping Clemson ... The FPI is nothing but a

This pissed me to no end (LSU # 12) but will pay for three or four vacations in 2020

    2. FREMEAUX EFFICIENCY INDEX (FEI): ranks LSU #2 behind OSU and has my utmost respect and confidence. We got off lucky to play Clemson. OSU was a better team

    3. SP+ RATINGS: Five Factors of CFB, i.e., efficiency, explosiveness, field position, finishing drives and turnovers

There are also lotsa new Analytical systems and everyone wants their own customized system

The one they use in the weight room that was developed by the MIT grads is probably the coolest one they use to get real time data and next gen stats. One thing that's so impressive is that we're the first and only elite program using it and the results from last year speak for themselves. It's really helped Moffitt ovehaul and modernize his S&C program.
