1. I'd add BYU to the list of recognizables...
  2. What about ULL. Just kidding.
  3. Isn't that the group that puts the stickers on all electrical stuff?
  4. you're forgetting

UCLA, UNLV, UNC, UTEP, FSU, OU, UT, USC, BYU......

LSU is not the only school that is more widely known for its initials. But I will have to say that I have told people I go to LSU, and they've asked me "what state is that in?" I guess it goes with being from Georgia.
  5. UT-University of Texas or University of Tenessee
USC-Southern Cal or University of South Carolina
  6. OK, I'm willing to accept LSU, UCLA and BYU into the elite "known-best-by-their-initials status". Every school has an acronym that they use themselves. I'm talkin' about schools that are better known by their initials than by their name.

UNLV is a basketball school, I'm prejudiced towards football here.

MIT is not a football school either.

USC, FSU, UT, OU, are not unique acronyms.

UNC, UK, KU are best known by their full names.

    UConn is a wierd quasi-acronym.
