    you're forgetting

UCLA, UNLV, UNC, UTEP, FSU, OU, UT, USC, BYU......

LSU is not the only school that is more widely known for its initials. But I will have to say that I have told people I go to LSU, and they've asked me "what state is that in?" I guess it goes with being from Georgia.

OK, I'm willing to accept LSU, UCLA and BYU into the elite "known-best-by-their-initials status". Every school has an acronym that they use themselves. I'm talkin' about schools that are better known by their initials than by their name.

UNLV is a basketball school, I'm prejudiced towards football here.

MIT is not a football school either.

USC, FSU, UT, OU, are not unique acronyms.

UNC, UK, KU are best known by their full names.

    UConn is a wierd quasi-acronym.
