This progression would indicate that you will finish #1.5 this year, and that can only happen if there is a split national title. Who would have thought that another BCS controversy was just around the corner. Congrats on your forthcoming :crystal:
Bama's football team is like our baseball team...sprinkled with talent here and there, but overall it is woefully weak in talent and depth and it will take a couple of years to replentish the system. Will Nicky be around then? Even Bama fans must realize he is not going to stick around there very long, he never has and never will be a lifer.
Miles can win it all but it's not that easy. The key is to be good enough to compete for a championship every year and sooner or later your stars will align. As far as the bama/mooU boy from above, satan is a good coach but don't expect the miracles that the bama nation thinks will happen the second he takes the field. Bama is a middle of the pack SEC team which might win you a PAC10 championship, but will leave you with 3-4 losses playing an SEC schedule. Let's see how long it takes for bama fans to start applying pressure to old satan. We all know how he folded under the pressure at Miami, time will tell how he does in gumpland and nothing is guaranteed.
I think nick will stay at Bama if he improves the team each year and builds a solid program, which I think he will do. We don't like what he did, mostly the lying at Miami, but he's won in college and I expect him to do it again. I don't know if he'll win a nat. championship at Bama, its not easy to do. saban is about 56 now, and he's failed in the NFL, so that option should be off the table to him. He's making $4 mil per year, so no other college will pay him that. I see him staying at Bama to finish that contract, or retiring first if the heat gets real hot.
I agree. If he has some success and can keep the fans somewhat happy, 4 mil a year will keep him there. He has nowhere else to go. Everyone else in the nation can see him for what he is now.
back to coach miles winning a nc..... yes, i think he can. i think he is a good coach, a good recruiter, and a good at hiring top assistants. but it also takes luck to win a nc, since there are things out of his control that will be part of the equation of even getting to a nc game.
He will have to improve as a coach in order to achieve either. I don't think he can, but it still remains to be seen.
I believe he is good enough. It's possible he will never win though. College football is very competitive. Luck, schedules, & the ever changing BCS has as much to do with it as anything else.
