Fact: Les Miles is 40 points away from not 1 but 2 perfect seasons. The more I think about that, the more I know the LSU Program is in great hands. 40 points. Saban lost 31-0 to a Dennis Frachione coached Bama team in his 3rd year, just to put those 40 points into perspective.

well, i'm with ya in spirit, but that's still 10 pts per loss. but if you factor that uga loss in the sec ch game was a 20 pointer with the loss of your starting QB, then it's not really that bad.
a 13 pt loss and a 4 point last play loss this year to UF and AU respectively and the katrina loss to tenn by 3 in OT in his 1st home game. yes, none of those are really bad losses sans the UGA one.

ok, you convinced me, 40 pts isn't that bad.

Back to the topic of this thread, can Miles win a National Championship, my answer is no he can not. Don't jump me just yet. He can not, but he, Crowton, Bo, the coaching assts, and some 80 players can. It would be selfish for him to think he could win it by himself. Miles isn' that way, when we do win a NC he will give credit to everyone else but himself. He knows that it is a complete team effort.

There is no "I" in team, and that is his belief as well. So, yes with the efforts for everyone involved with the team LSU will win a NC under the guidance for Les Miles. I believe that this is our yr and we will be the #1 or #2 team through out most of the season. Miles and this team will get us to the mountain again and bring home another SECC and NC much stronger than when NS did it. We will be a favorite for the most of the entire 2007 season.

Yes the stars will have to align properly for it to happen, but it will not take 3 or 4 scenarios to happen for it to appear that we lucked into the spot. We will be a lock and there will be no question that we are supposed to be there. There will be no reports before the SECCG that has ESPN reporters saying that the team from the SEC East is going to beat us and we end up proving them wrong. We will run the tables and be talked about as one of the best teams in the history of NCAA college football.

This yr Les Miles will put all doubters on notice that he is for real and should be considered as one of the best college football coaches. This yr CLM will write his ticket and be able to make his own demands for whatever he wants. After this yr it will be LSU's chance to lay claim to we took a shot and look what we proved. It will also be LSU's to loose, as far as keeping CLM for the future.

There will be no let down season to follow our NC season. He will end up after a 10 yr run and 2 NC's, being the best coach in LSU history and one of the best int he history of the SEC. He will be considered the Stever Spurrier of the 21st Century.

Now that I have drawn the picture of the perfect dream, I will be happy if he can just do some of it. My picture perfect dream isn't that far from the possible and it is fun to think that it could come true. people (the press) didn't give LSU or Fla much chance in the NC in '03 and '06 respectively. b/c in '03 there were other teams in the SEC that were good that made us look vunerable (i.e. UF, lefire: , UGA I, etc.) same with Fla. last year (AU, carolina, etc.) lots of good teams in conference where we beat each other up.

yet last year ohio st steamrolls people on a down year in the big 10, oklahoma gets called "the greatest team ever" by many 10 games into '03 and no one thinks an SEC team can compete b/c "they didn't look too good against _______(pick a team).

I truly believe Coach Miles can win another National Championship.

I believe LSU can Beat Bama Again

I believe that more cowbell is still needed

And above all i think i am hungry for a late night snack and maybe a brownie to celebrate our National Champioship.

According to Mark May who was on ESPN talking about recruiting and BAMA, said that Saban should be getting credit for LSU's championship. He said "that he left a great recruiting class for Miles and built most of that team."

Am I missing something here?

Yes, all college football talking heads at ESPN (besides Rece Davis) are know-nothing blow-hards. If you know this going in, then their comments won't upset you so much. :thumb:
