My thought is that when AU hired CWM, we heard it was CNS's D, and there was questions as to how much CWM was responsible for the success of LSU's defense. CTT may set up guidelines, but the D belongs to CWM at AU. If there is any doubt, remember the play that bama scored on AU right before half? CTT was dumbfounded by the D call, CWM was running that show, and I think he likes the responsibility.

That's a thinly disguised shot at our head coach, Bammer. You are completely transparent smack artist who needs to get a litle more polite.

And you aren't paying very good attention. The rest of the planet thinks LSU's sucess is because of the talent we line up.

Brother, I think you're 100% right. My current feeling is that I'm less concerned w/ who is the better coach or recruiter; rather, I'm just glad we have the guy with the better character.

Far as I can tell, Les has been perfect in how he's handled everything---the move from OSU was handled graciously (even if an eaten alive by jealousy Mike Gundy did not), and he was awesome in handling a ton of adversity last season.

Sure, there will be days when we question his decisions on and off the field, but make no mistake--he's now officially, 100% "our" guy.

Well, until he replaces Lloyd Carr in Ann Arbor, but that's another issue for a (hopefully far-off in the future) day.

Miles will beat bama next year. But after that Bama will go back to dominating LSU minus any type of probation and of course Saban not entertaining any future jobs. Nick Saban is just on a different level than CLM b/c I still think he will turn out like Larry Coker, nice guy but not a good hc. I bet Mack Brown, Carroll and Tresell are doing flips b/c the sec just got that much tougher.

But, really how long do you think Saban will stay in Tuscalooser? How can recruits believe anything he says? I wouldn't. The man is a great coach, but I wouldn't trust him.

I think that is a legitmate question. Saban is a premadona(sp) and it will be interesting on how he will deal with the media in al with guys like Finebaum and Cecil Hurt. I do think his days of getting a plum job like the Dolphins, Broncos or the Chargers are done. I think the desperate franchises like Oakland, and Arizona will still call him, but his repuatation has taken a hit for him throwing in the towl and heading back to college. I think he stays in college for the rest of his career.

I think Saban is a very high caliber coach, but I wouldn't call him "great" just yet.

Also remember that he will have a much tougher time recruiting in Alabama, both because of his obvious commitment issues and the tougher competition in that region. Don't kid yourself that recruiters from Auburn, various Florida schools, and Georgia and Tennessee won't hesitate to bring up Nick's now well-document penchant for roaming...I imagine the next few years recruiting in that area will be a dirty as many political campaigns.

I really don't think Miles is that concerned with Saban, not to the level that we are. Although, I do think that some little part if his mind that isn't focused on Notre Dame and the Sugar Bowl is thinking, "Maybe my hat's not so funny now."

there's only a couple problems with that.

    1. Shula might have done that given time. He Also had to deal with Paul Jr.
    2. There's another school in Bama have you heard of Auburn? :hihi:

good luck, Nicky will need it. last I heard he still had to play, all the other SEC teams. I look for saban to win maybe one more game a year than SHula.

Can you say Cotton bowl? Independnace bowl? Can you say lucky to win the SEC once in five years? forget the NC. go dig up one of Bear's highlight films.

Nick's ego is so big that he probably does read message boards. And since this message board is the best around he probably reads this one. Just a little message for ya Nick, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out of Tuscalooser in 2 years. Thanks for the memories ON CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!!!!!!! :hihi:  :hihi:  :hihi:

I assumed that there would be some kind of College Coaches Code that a coach couldn't return to the same division of a rival.... I know that the old ball coach was at FLA and now at South Car, but they weren't real rivals. SC was not on the same level as FLA but, that could be taboo as well?

In my opinion, CLS could care less if Saban is back in the SEC or not. CLM has the better Program and better job. I think another reason other schools aren't trying to get to CLM is that they know he wouldn't take a step back. I think there is a top tier of coaches/universities... (LSU, ND, OSU, MI, USC, UT just to name a few).... and those coaches are at the top of the mountain.

I appreciate what CNS contributed to LSU winning the :crystal: , but it wasn't all him. So, when CNS comes to Death Valley, ya'll may very well hear the loudest Tiger Bait chant ever!
