No, from what I recall, UF flat out rejected Spurrier for Meyer. But this is comparing apples and oranges with regards to these situations.

Expect Les Miles to go undefeated against Nick Saban while ol' nicky is at bama.

    You must have blinders on.
You will be an idiot if you think Nick Saban will stay the length of his contract
when he hasn't done that with MSU, LSU or Miami.
He always has a way out or an excuse to move on and if he doesn't have the
success he's had at LSU you are stuck with him win or lose.
Alabama is betting everything on this one pot.

Saban didn't like recruiting and competing against UM and he sure aint
going to like sharing with AU.

According to Spurrier, Foley wanted him to interview for the job. People like Spurrier do not interview.

As far as Saban staying the full length of his contract. Don't know and really don't care. This hire has finally put the last nail in Bryant's coffin. Mal Moore will retire and all of those ties will be done. That is why this hire was so important. Do we expect to win the SECCG every year? Only a crack head thinks that way, we just want and expect to be competitive every time that we take the field. There is too much parity in CFB to totally dominate.

I've always found you to be rational and a good guest here but that's out of line......red is VERY respected here and also very RESPECTFUL. You just lost my respect by using such a term.
If we did that on the tide forum we'd be banned or reprimanded publicly like the other guy. Here we have a rep system that I'm indifferent about but I hope you get a lot of red for it...mine will be signed.

You wish! Gene Stallings couldn't do it with an undefeated, national championship season, with a BEATDOWN of Miami in the Sugar to seal the deal. Saban will fail if that is what you're looking for.

I haven't thought that Red was respectful but that is no excuse for what I did. I am a guest here and I do sincerely apologize. I was out of line.

Bama fans love Coach Stallings, but he was "Bear Lite" and too soon after Coach Bryant.
