<--- Is happy with Miles. Doesn't want Saban back. Actually thinks Miles is a better coach having team more prepared for all games and not losing to the UABs and Troys of this world (although Saban's defense and recruiting tactics are difficult to argue with).
I like having Miles as our coach. But some people need to forget that UAB game from Nick's first season. He had just taken over a team with a culture of losing. They still had that loser's mentality about them, and not enough confidence in themselves to pull that game out. Hell, they didn't pick up the swagger of a champion until about the half way point of his second season. Mile took over a team that already had that confidence, so they won't loseee to the UAB's of this world.
Don't know if he would want to come back or if LSU would ever want him back, but if it ever happens, there better be one helluva a buyout in his contract. No more of this crap where he can break his contract at anytime without penalty.
I have been married thiry-eight years to the same woman but I have no desire to think like a chic. Thinking like a man, I would rather go all the way occasionally than get a kiss at the front door and say wait until next year. After waiting forty-five years for another national championship I have hopes of seeing another between the eternities.
You are right. Comparing Miles first year to Saban's first year doesn't work. But when judging Miles I do think people need to remember what happened in Saban's last year. With "Saban Talent" he lost 3 games. Only beat Troy by 4 and Ole Miss by 3. People rake Miles over the coals for some of the same things Saban did in his last year at the helm. I don't think its fair.
I think Saban's last year has a lot to do with where we are now. Bear with me on this. Saban's last season, we got robbed @ Auburn, blown out @ Georgia, some close calls, then a heartbreaker in the bowl. This teams swagger got sucker punched something fierce. Then came the Tenn game last season, followed by a lot of close calls during the season before the blowout loss to Georgia again. Sure the Miami win helped the confidence, but that vanished after the AU shaft job. Then came the meltdown to Florida. That Florida loss was a lot like the Ole Miss loss in Saban's 2nd season. It helped flip a switch. Suddenly, they started to mesh. They went from thinking they COULD win, to KNOWING they will win. Especially after the Tenn game. The swagger is starrting to return. After mauling the Irish, this team has a shot to be something special next year because they believe in themselves.
Don't know about that. You may be looking over your shoulder and worrying about playing a Saban coached Bama.
If you think Saban has a hard time losing to Mangini and Jauron, just wait till he gets thrashed by Miles & Tubby. I thought Nick said Tubby was one of his best friends. Some Friend if he takes the Bama job. Saban and loyalty....oxymoron Saban and friendship.....oxymoron
