Routine for Sugar to pick an SEC team. Therefore if Florida goes to the BCS CG, then the Sugar would pick us. Florida just not in the mix for the Rose. They would be a threat to the Orange if LSU is somehow overlooked in the Rose and Arkansas wins this game tonight. But LSU is a lock vs USC over Notre Dame. And that would be that.
Florida is up 31-21 on Arky. If they can maintain this kind of lead, any chance that they sneak past MICH in the BCS? I know that they shouldn't, but could the human factor put them over the top? Admittedly, I want to see LSU in the Rose.
Doesn't matter at this point. Florida will not roll up enough points to overtake Michigan. 38-28 now...
If Florida loses I think they are out of the BCS. If both USC and Fl lose LSU would likely be 3 and no worse than 4 in BCS. Top 4 BCS = automatic qualifer. Ark would be in as champs. Florida would be out because no conference can have more than 2 BCS teams.
If this score gets any more out of hand, and if Meyer has any sense, he tries desperately to put up 14 more points. Then we're looking at a 50-50 proposition Florida makes it to the BCS CG. And that's real.
I want to believe that, but not sure that I can. If Florida wins this game, there is going to be a lot of noise about them being in the MNC. I understand the talk about the computers. It's the human polls I am thinking about. 1. Florida just won it's Conference Championship and sits at 12-1 (Mich. didn't even win it's conference). 2. Florida deserves a shot at the title as they will have beaten #4 LSU and won a very tough conference (Mich. just lost to OSU two weeks ago and thus had it's chance). I just see the human emotion factor pulling hard on this one. So, I am concerned that LSU may get bounced from the Rose if Florida wins and is able to jump Mich. in the BCS. The good news is that LSU ends up in a BCS bowl anyway, probably the Sugar, but the bad news is that so many of us what to see the team out here in it's first ever Rose.
