    LSU Tiger in the 2007 World Series ---
    Brad Hawpe – Colorado Rockies – Starting Outfielder
    Played 1B/OF on LSU’s 1999 team and on the 2000 SEC Championship and CWS Championship team.
    Drafted in the 11th round in the 2000 draft by Colorado.
    From Fort Worth, TX (Boswell HS, Navarro JC)

    One game away from being in the series ---
    Paul Byrd – Cleveland Indians – Starting Pitcher
    Pitcher for LSU 1989 to 1991. On LSU’s SEC Championship and CWS team in 1990 & 1991
    and LSU’s first CWS Championship team in 1990.
    Drafted in the 4th round in the 1991 draft by Cleveland.
    Member of the 1999 NL All Star Team while playing for Philadelphia.

    Paul Byrd used to flirt with me in my freshman English class in the spring of '89. I didn't know who he was until some other guy in my class asked me how I knew Paul Byrd, the star freshman pitcher.

    I said, "Who?"

    Well, hindsight is always 20/20, but just think, you could be already be helping spend those bonuses.

    Yea, I saw somewhere that after the big win the other night he mentioned something like that in comparison to 99 when he was on the NL All Star Team.
