"LSU gets a chance to make a statement of our own this weekend. If we don't put up this weekend, we should just shut up for the rest of the year on the respect thing. If we win, I want us in the Top 5." Thumbs up, LSU can put up or shutup this weekend, IF LSU wins they we have an argument a great one, if we dont then I agree we need to focus on the rest of the season and focus on a good bowl and let the Ranking's, NC talk, SEC title talk be left for next year. Its that simple....
I don't have a problem with us at number 9 right now, but when we beat Bama, we definitely move past Oregon, and Bama of course. Others are a little harder to argue, because there's no denying the "0"s in the loss column. But assuming all other undefeateds win, my rankings next week would be: 1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Cincinnati 4. TCU 5. LSU 6. Boise St. 7. Iowa (way overrated at #4)
Perhaps, we'll see.... here's some stuff to chew on: Number of opponents defeated that currently have winning records: 1. Iowa 6 2. Texas 4 2. Cincinnati 4 2. Texas Christian 4 5. Alabama 3 5. Oregon 3 7. Boise State 2 7. Florida 2 Total won-lost records (and winning percentage) of defeated opponents: 1. Iowa 44-31 .586 2. Florida 35-29 .547 3. Texas 35-30 .538 4. Oregon 29-28 .508 5. Texas Christian 34-33 .507 6. Alabama 32-33 .492 7. Cincinnati 30-36 .454 8. Boise State 27-37 .421 Total won-lost records of opponents defeated in their home stadiums (i.e. road wins) 1. Iowa 23-12 .657 2, Texas 15-9 .625 3. Florida 15-10 .600 4. Texas Christian 19-14 .575 5. Alabama 9-7 .563 6. Cincinnati 21-20 .512 7. Boise State 14-18 .437 8. Oregon 6-10 .375 Number of defeated opponents ranked in current BCS top 25: 1. Iowa 3 (Penn State, Arizona, Wisconsin) 1. Oregon 3 (USC, Utah, California) 3. Texas 2 (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State) 4. Boise State 1 (Oregon) 4. Cincinnati 1 (South Florida) 6. Florida 1 (LSU) 7. Alabama 0 7. Texas Christian 0
