islstl, you are a wizard with the numbers. its an endearing, rainman quality. if i dropped a handful of toothpicks on the floor, i have no doubt that you instantly tell me how many toothpicks i dropped and what time wapner was coming on tv.
    good work buddy.

With Miami sitting currently at #10, if Russell isn't taken yet, I think Saban pulls the trigger and selects JR.

With Russel's stock rising as such (in fact Inside the NFL last night said he might even be the overall number 1 draft choice), he's surely to go pro. Like Tyrus Thomas, he couldn't better himself by waiting a year unless one wants to enjoy the college years like Glen Davis. Not sure I'd want to go to Detroit, Oakland or Cleveland though. Mid to late round first rounders go to the better teams.

JaMarcus is an honor roll student. Despite some fans' perception of him, the wonderlic should not be an issue at all.

JaMarcus' stock has sky rocketed the later half of this season. With a weak ND secondary, I am not sure how much his performance in the Sugar Bowl will affect his draft position. Scouts will realize that each QB is going against different competition - however, if JR really outshines Quinn fans may prefer JR, which you can't discout. Where JaMarcus will really start getting hype is the combine. The NFL is going to drool over him and I think he'll go top 5 regardless of where Quinn goes. I could see either him or Quinn going before the other. It will be close.

Just wanted to remind everyone that, I told you so!

Two years of defending a guy that should not have needed to be defended.

Oh yeah, and CParso is right, JR is an honor student, why would you all assume he will do poorly on the wunderlich?

expect JR and Glen Dorsey to be in the top 15 picks.... then of course the media will say that LSU has lost too much to compete next year and they will start off ranked around 10... they don't seem to get that LSU can simply reload these days... apparently on a certain west coast team can do that...

Yeah, that's why I prefaced it with "with the possible exception of the Wunderlich". I know he'll dominate the purely athletic tests, I didn't want to make an assumption of how smart either Quinn or Russell is since I have no idea.

Didn't mean to intimate he was inferior intellectually, more making a point that he will have no problems outdoing Quinn on the athletic side.

On HBO's "Inside the NFL" Jamarcus was listed as the #1 junior that could come out, and they mentioned that he could challenge Quinn for the #1 overall pick.

So put that in your hatin' pipe, JR haters! :hihi:

I know this will spark all sorts of argument but I'm not sold on VY. Call me crazy but if I'm the coach or the gm I call that young man to the side line and hand him a jersey with the #88 on it and say "go long on every play". Yeah yeah he is on a little roll and he has won them a few games but it all seems very "Mike Vick". He will soon learn that NFL QB's don't run around all tham much because sooner or later a Ray Lewis is going to put a hat on him. He isn't all that accurate and there is a word for a pass that is six inches off in the NFL, it's called an interception. He will throw lots of them. More power to him if he can prove me wrong but I am firmly in the VY needs to be a WR camp. JR on the other hand has the tools to be a great NFL QB. He needs a little work but he has it. Not saying Vince isn't one hell of an athelete, I just think he is wearing the wrong number.
