Here is a great article by Jim Kleinpeter of the TP:

LSU DT Drake Nevis good player on field, better person off it | NOLA.com

Saying that you want your son to grow up just like someone is the ultimate compliment, in my opinion.

I know this to be true. He holds Bible study at his apartment and teammates and others show up and participate. It's a regular occurrence.

    Good for him.

He deserves this praise. Hard player on the field and sounds like an even better person off of it.

Great read. Good to hear he's a great leader on and off the field. One of the guys who has substance behind what he says and does it regardless of the hype. Will be rooting for him in his career wherever it takes him.

I can personally say that Drake Nevis is a stand up guy.

I have a brother (a lot younger than me) that goes to LSU. His room mate does the bible study with Nevis. Before the West Virginia game, my brother's room mate arranged for my 15 year old son to get to meet Drake.

While the enocounter was brief, Drake Nevis was extremely polite. His voice was nothing like I would have expected, extremely soft spoken. He shook hands with both my son and I and even called me "sir" when we spoke. My son was amazed to get to meet him and it was really special moment.

Him and our new prized DT for next year have a lot of similarities. Hopefully someone reaches for him like the chiefs did with tyson jackson.
